Dental Implant Placement In Malaysia
A dental implant is a prosthetic tooth that is used to replace a natural tooth that has fallen out or has been extracted from the jaw. This prosthetic is a safe alternative to bridges and dentures because it is supported by artificial roots instead of existing teeth.
About Implants
Implants, which offer exceptional support and a strong, seamless smile, are surgically placed into your jawbone, unlike bridges and usual dentures. Each prosthetic is supported by a strong titanium implant that is inserted into the jawbone and then connected to a prosthetic crown via an abutment, resulting in a semi-permanent fixture. If you have enough bone to support your implant, the procedure to insert it will take 3-6 months to complete. If your bone is too soft, you will need a bone graft, which will add two to three months to your treatment time.
The Step-by-Step Process
Initial Assessment: Your dental implant journey starts with a comprehensive evaluation, including oral health, medical history, and imaging like X-rays and 3D scans to assess your jawbone and dental structure.
Treatment Planning: Your dentist will create a customized treatment plan, detailing the implant number, placement, and the type of restoration needed to replace your missing teeth.
Implant Placement:Dental implants involve a minimally invasive procedure where titanium posts are inserted into the jawbone to serve as artificial tooth roots.
Healing and Osseointegration: After implant placement, a healing period is essential for osseointegration, where implants bond with surrounding bone for stability and longevity, typically lasting a few months.
Abutment Placement: Once osseointegration is complete, an abutment is attached to the implant. The abutment is a strong anchor for the final replacement tooth or teeth.
Custom Restoration: To create a custom prosthesis, impressions of your mouth are taken. This replacement tooth or teeth are color, shape, and size matched to your own teeth.
Final Placement: Finally, the custom restoration is attached to the abutment. The end result is a completely restored smile that looks and functions exactly like natural teeth.
